I write retro-fiction about American life between the 1960s and the 1990s, with characters and settings from Buffalo, NY, and occasionally other locales.
 
The plotlines are universally recognizable to women of all ages, I’m told, and the insights are deeply meaningful across multiple generations.

The Buffalo Trilogy
 
Book One: Virgin Snow
Published in 2023, this novel follows a young West Side girl as she navigates the tragedies and triumphs of her teenage years.
 
Book Two: Black Ice
Published July 2026! Leaving behind a recent tragedy in Buffalo, Cosi McCarthy pictures The Big Apple as a real-life Oz, but it isn’t long before the curtain parts and she finds herself on thin, black ice.

Buffalo Book of the Month: Orphans and Inmates, by Roseanne L. Higgins
 
Just starting this historical fiction series that begins in 1830s Buffalo, and Ciara Sloane is a character I want to know more about! This is the first in an eight book series about life in Buffalo's poorhouses.
